Sepahan’s hopes boosted after a 2-1 win over Al-Ittihad of Saudi on Wednesday night. Mohammad Mehdi Seyed Salehi scored in the 61st minute and Hadi Aghili’s header into visitor’s box assured the Iranian side to win the match. Al-Ittihad scored a goal one minute before the final whistle.
Sepahan is fourth in the Group A with three points. Uzbekistan’s Quruvchi and Al-Ittihad of Saudi are placed first and second.

Also, Iranian champions Saipa defeated Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya of Iraq and moved clear at the top of the AFC Champions League Group B. Amir Vaziri gave the lead the Karaj-based team in the end of the first half.
Saipa’s Majid Gholamnejad was sent off in the 60th minute for headbutting Iraqi Ali Mansour.
Saipa stands first with seven points, followed by Al-Quwa Al -Jawiya and UAE’s Al -Wasl with four and three points, respectively.
